Children of the stones

Cornish stone. Yahicamat 124G 6×6 twin lens reflex, f3.5 (wide open on the 80mm standard lens).

Children’s television in the 1970s was not afraid to deliver disturbing programs that enthralled us and indicated the world to be a more interesting place than adults normally admitted to. “Children of the Stones”, “The singing ringing tree” and “Penda’s Fen” all brought magic into the day.

There is something about an ancient stone to make you think, they will still be here for thousands of years, they will put websites and photographs to shame in their continued ability to tell a story.

Cornwall, approx 1980.
