One of my earliest images, shot on a twin lens reflex camera borrowed from the photo department of the Gamble Institute in St.Helens.
Given a roll of film and the instructions to “go for a walk and photograph what you see” was the perfect way to explore photography in both the “mechanics” sense and also the conceptual sense of recording and re-presenting the world around me.
Birchalls are famous for their pork pies and even today they still have queues outside of people wanting to buy them.
Taken mid to later 1970s (the platform shoes might be a giveaway).
